Description of functions for calculation of properties of water and steam in WaterSteamPro
All WaterSteamPro functions uses base units from the SI unit system: pascal, kelvin, joule, kilogramm, meter, second. Additional capabilities of using units has program Mathcad of the MathSoft Engineering & Education, Inc.
Most of the functions (except for some system functions) have double type of arguments and results (a real number with double precision).
In case of error, all functions return the value -1 (minus one). The function "wspGETLASTERROR()" allows to analyze a code of an error. An error code is saved until another function is called, except for the system functions.
The function names in WaterSteamPro are unified (they have identical names in different programs) and are generated according the following rules:
- A name begins with the prefix "wsp" (small letters);
- After that a descriptor of the sought quantity is situated. For example, specific enthalpy is "H" (capital letters);
- The next component is a descriptor of region and condition of water/water steam. For example, water in the saturation line is denoted as "SW" ("Saturated Water"). Names of generalized functions (for example, specific volume as a function of pressure and temperature) have not such a component.
- The end of a name is the argument descriptors. Thus, specific volume is function of pressure, temperature and degree of dryness and it is denoted as "PTX" - where "P" - pressure; "T" - temperature; "X" - degree of dryness.
String descriptors of quantities and dimensions in the SI unit system are listed below:
